I have been involved in online dating for several years. I completely agree with you comments on the subject.

How long I talk to someone before meeting depends a lot on him and the distance. I like to have at least one phone conversation with home if he doesn't live in the same city. You can learn so much from talking and hearing the voice. Generally though I prefer to meet sooner than later, maybe half a dozen conversations can tell you if there any obvious reasons to not meet. My biggest problem is this: I live in a relatively small city with very little selection so have to look farther afield, an hour to an hour and a half. Most men don't seem to want to go any distance, so what am I to do. Is there something I could be saying to encourage them to overlook the distance?
